Product overview
What Omakase Plus does, what “ready” means, and where the public Omakase product ends.
What Omakase Plus is
Omakase Plus is a private anime discovery and media control plane. It can begin with a recommendation shaped by your AniList or MyAnimeList history and a written taste profile, or with a direct anime title, AniList URL, or AniList ID.
From there it resolves the exact title and season, searches the release sources you configured, acquires through the selected provider, verifies the resulting media, and publishes a deterministic library to Plex.
The important word is verifies. Omakase does not treat “the provider says downloaded” as the end of the job.
The readiness contract
A title is ready only when the evidence agrees:
- The AniList identity, season, cour or arc, and episode numbering are unambiguous.
- The expected episode inventory is present.
- The media files are readable and probe as the intended episodes.
- A switchable English subtitle from the same release is preferred and other embedded languages are preserved.
- Representative playback bytes can be read.
- Plex sees the intended folders, metadata, and episodes after a scoped scan.
- The publication can be rolled back without deleting provider media.
If a candidate fails one of these gates, Omakase records the reason and continues to the next eligible candidate. If configured sources and provider availability are exhausted, it reports what remains missing.
Omakase Plus does not promise that every anime or episode is always obtainable. It promises to search the configured sources carefully, keep going past failed candidates, and report exhaustion honestly.
Public Omakase and private Omakase Plus
Public Omakase is a related but distinct product. It is a bring-your-own-key recommendation experience and public-safe project.
Omakase Plus adds the private operating layer:
- owner authentication and encrypted integrations;
- direct anime intake and monitored requests;
- provider-neutral acquisition;
- episode, subtitle, and playback verification;
- deterministic Plex publication;
- airing-title checks;
- Doctor, activity receipts, support bundles, backup, and rollback.
The Plus source repository, private routes, account details, provider identifiers, and deployment configuration are not published by this site.
Current release posture
The current release is a private preview verified on its owner-operated target. Public installation packages and an open source Plus repository are not offered.
The supported operating story is professional and recoverable, but still owner-led:
- install one authorized exact private revision;
- keep Omakase behind trusted access;
- start with import-only mode;
- prove Plex, subtitle, playback, backup, and recovery before enabling another provider;
- preserve receipts and run Doctor after meaningful changes.
