Use the app / personal records
History & ratings
Keep personal watch progress, imported observations and ratings separate from availability and download activity.
Before you begin
Sign in to your own private account. Connect a tracker or Plex only when you want the relevant explicit import or write. Use the actual viewer's Plex token: an administrator's token does not represent another household member's history.
Record what you watched
- Open the title or episode you actually watched.
- Save the supported progress or status action.
- Add an optional rating. For movies, the scale is 1–10 in half steps.
- Review History and the source of the observation.
Expected result: watch progress and rating remain independent. A rating alone does not assert completion; a library entry, media verification or acquisition receipt does not mean you watched anything.
Import from Plex deliberately
Movies: choose Sync watched from Plex to read the fields visible to your configured token. Batches are bounded and continue from a per-user, token-scoped cursor. Check remaining and skipped results. Manual overrides survive sync; import does not write back to Plex.
TV: explicit inventory checks can import recorded episode watch flags. Manual corrections remain authoritative. A series-level status does not complete every episode. Unknown/future air dates cannot be manually marked watched.
Anime: use the connected AniList workflow for explicit list writes and inspect retryable action states. Apple TV progress stays manual; media readiness does not create viewing history.
Read the dates honestly
History distinguishes actual watch observations, manual marks and imported checkpoints from operational download/sync logs. A season snapshot's latest activity is labelled Recorded; it is not a claimed watch date for its highest watched episode. Catalog names appear only when available.
Local movie ratings are not silently written to AniList, SIMKL or Plex. General TV makes no AniList updates. If a remote write fails, inspect its delivery state rather than assuming a local save reached the tracker.
